Franklin Partners closes 10th medical device transaction

Franklin Partners is pleased to announce that it has initiated and completed the sale of Emerald Medical Services Pte. Ltd. (“EMS”), a Singapore-based designer and manufacturer of interventional medical devices to IntriCon Corporation (NASDAQ: IIN), a Twin Cities-based designer, developer and manufacturer of miniature interventional, implantable and body-worn medical devices.

EMS provides contract prototyping and manufacturing of complex interventional devices to medical device OEMs. Founded in 2011, EMS has core competencies in catheters, balloons, nitinol constraining structures, and extruded and molded components used in advanced interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular, neurology, radiology and pulmonology diagnostic and therapy procedures. Steve Wiesner, Co-Founder and President, and Mike O’Connor, Co-Founder and Vice President, will continue to lead the EMS team as it is integrated into IntriCon.

IntriCon makes components, sub-assemblies and finished devices that help medical, healthcare and professional communications companies meet the rising demand for smaller, more intelligent and better connected devices. The company has operations in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Franklin Partners was EMS’s exclusive M&A advisor and Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP was transaction counsel to EMS.
